Our Community

"The single most important reason that our family is here is the sense of community, and how it's reflected in the classroom through child-centered, integrated, thematic learning that pays attention and celebrates the diversity and uniqueness of each individual!”
— CDS parent
At CDS we consciously work to create a school community that is diverse, inclusive and down-to-earth, where everyone feels a shared commitment to the learning environment and to ensuring that the children are always at the center of the conversation. We know that it is important to create many kinds of opportunities for parents and families to gather, to talk about common issues and concerns and to work together as we educate and raise the next generation. We model for our students the lifelong learning and passionate world citizenship that we want for them
When CDS families are asked about the predominant feeling they have when they walk onto the campus, the overwhelming response is one word: community.
Our community is one of our greatest strengths and has been for our 35 years of operation.
