Extended Day Program

Philosophy

The CDS Extended Day Program activities and schedules are designed to achieve a balance of organized activities and supervised free play. Children may choose from a wide variety of age-appropriate activities such as sports and games, study hall, building, art, music, cooking, gardening, community service projects and visits to the nearby Columbia Park Boys & Girls Club.

Hours and Procedure

A variety of schedules are offered to fit each family’s needs. The Extended Program is available Monday through Friday from 7:30 to 8:00 a.m. and after school until 6:00 p.m. every day school is in session (except Grandparents & Special Friends Day and Graduation).

After School Program

The core of the Extended Day Program, our after school program, is offered from dismissal until 6:00 p.m. and includes age-appropriate combinations of academic and recreational activities. Taking full advantage of our protected acre of land, experienced teachers create a dynamic environment that is fun and engaging and provides ample time for play. Please take a look at each program's website for more detailed information about the schedule and activities offered.

Enrichments

Taught by CDS teachers, community teachers, and instructors from accredited local organizations, three sessions of exciting enrichment classes are offered each year (Fall, Winter, and Spring). Classes meet for one hour a week after school and cost varies, depending on the nature of the class.
