Uke Group

If you love to play the ukulele, come join us in this group to learn more songs, chords, plucking, and strumming. We can work individually and in small groups to collaborate on songs. If you have your own ukulele, you are welcome to bring it in or borrow one of the CDS instruments. Students are encouraged to bring their own ideas to the ensemble!

Cooking with Ryan!

In Ryan's cooking enrichment class, students will learn a variety of cooking methods through the experience of preparing different dishes.  The actual cooking we will be doing will not be through recipes, but rather through basic techniques that can be used for a large variety of foods.  Students will be exposed to different techniques, flavors and cuisines each week, which will hopefully inspire them to practice even more and maybe even provide a meal or two at home.

Join this enrichment if you want to be a part of the first ever podcasts in CDS history! Students in the podcast enrichment will get to create and record the content that gets put in the podcast, so if you like talking into a microphone, interviewing people, or having fun making a podcast for the whole school then this enrichment is definitely for you!

Community Artivism

Stemming from the  Socially Engaged or 'Protest' Art movement, Jackie will offer a unique enrichment program wherein young people will learn about and hear from local community arts activists and projects as well the rich history of creativity and activism in the Bay Area.  We will also carry out our own Social Practice Art projects from start to finish. We will engage in public interventions, poster making, visit the Museum of Capitalism, rethink schools, maps and more!

Do you love to sing and want to share that passion with a group of other singers? Then come join chorus! We will work on a variety of music skills, singing both melody and harmony. We'll also add some movement and body percussion! Students are encouraged to bring their own ideas to the ensemble. All skill levels welcome.

Jam Band

If you have experience playing an instrument, bring it in and join us for this jam band. We will take whatever instruments show up and turn it into a band to collaborate on songs from all times and places. Students are encouraged to bring their own ideas to the ensemble.
