ptta
Every adult who creates policy, administrates, teaches or enrolls a child at CDS is automatically a member of the Parent-Teacher-Trustee-Administrator Organization (PTTA), which has the sole purpose of strengthening our community. The PTTA provides a forum for regular communication among parents, faculty, the administrative team and the Board of Trustees. It is a community of adults supported by, involved with and invested in the school and its future. The PTTA also ensures that teachers have the reliable partnerships they need in order to focus - first and always - on their students. The PTTA organizes parent involvement throughout the school from recruiting and supporting parents who serve as classroom liaisons, to sponsoring the annual Welcome Picnic and Friday Morning Coffees, and taking a major part in the school's fundraising plans and events. PTTA all-community meetings are held monthly during the school year, with event-specific and individual committee meetings held separately as needed. Leadership of the PTTA consists of 5 officers: a President, three Vice Presidents and a Secretary. The PTTA president is an ex-officio, voting member of the CDS Board of Trustees. Any member of the PTTA may hold these leadership positions. Here are some of the ways the PTTA serves the CDS community:
